Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your account and use of the Ortho Exchange website, question banks, tests, discussion features and related services.

1. About Ortho Exchange

Ortho Exchange is a collaborative educational platform for orthopaedic trainees and healthcare professionals preparing for postgraduate examinations. The service is operated in England and Wales.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Ortho Exchange, you agree to these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 and use the service for legitimate educational or professional purposes.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
• Your account is personal. Do not share your password, authentication links or access with another person.
• Account access may require email confirmation and administrator approval.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you have promptly reported suspected compromise.

4. Educational purpose

Ortho Exchange is not affiliated with, endorsed by or an official product of the Royal College examinations, UKITE or any commercial question-bank provider unless expressly stated.

5. Community contributions

You may submit original questions, explanations, comments and other material. You retain ownership of your original content. By submitting it, you grant Ortho Exchange a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, edit, format, moderate and display it for operating and improving the service.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the material and that it does not contain recalled examination content, confidential information, patient-identifiable information or material copied from a third-party source without permission.

6. Editorial control

Administrators may review, edit, combine, tag, move, hide, reject or remove community content. We may retain an audit record where needed for security, moderation or dispute handling. Acceptance of a submission does not guarantee that it will remain available.

7. Intellectual property

The Ortho Exchange name, branding, software, layout and platform-curated material are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use question content for your own revision. You may not reproduce, publish, sell, scrape or distribute a substantial part of the platform without written permission.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, suspend or withdraw features, banks or content for maintenance, security, legal or editorial reasons. You should keep your own copy of any personal notes you cannot afford to lose.

9. Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to investigate or address a breach of these terms, protect users, secure the platform or comply with law. Serious breaches may result in immediate removal of access. You may ask us to close your account by contacting us.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ortho Exchange is provided without a promise that every item is accurate, complete or continuously available. We are not responsible for examination results, clinical decisions or losses caused by reliance on community educational content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Third-party services and links

The platform uses and may link to third-party services. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you use them. We are not responsible for third-party content or availability.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service, law or risk. The current version and date will be published here. If a change materially affects users, we may also provide notice through the platform.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
